OPSEU/SEFPO offers educational courses, conferences, and workshops for members. Check out the course catalogue (new window).

Expenses are paid! That includes travel/kilometrage, meal allowances, child care, and accommodations.

Volunteer as a Steward

The Local is run entirely by volunteers. We're Support Staff at Mohawk College, too! Any member can volunteer as a Steward. Stewards are the backbone of the Local and build critical connections with each work area.  

• Stewards help provide guidance and information to members in their areas

• Stewards help our Local gain a better understanding of our unique working conditions

• Stewards can run for election to be Local Officers and gain experience in different roles

Stewards and Officers meet monthly at the Local Executive Committee meeting to hear updates, discuss ongoing business and highlight concerns that may need attention.
