Full-Time Strike Prep

OPSEU/SEFPO and Local 241 are preparing our members for province-wide full-time support staff strikes as early as September 11 2025. 

1. Create your account on the OPSEU Member Portal. Add your dependents and direct deposit information. Contact Susan Lau (president@opseu241.ca or on Teams) or Melissa Mellor (treasurer@opseu241.ca) for portal support.

2. Members requiring disability or human rights accommodations: Fill out the accommodations form

3. Read the Strike FAQ for answers to common questions about picketing, schedules, benefits, dependents, and more. FAQ will be updated as more information becomes available.

Call for Picket Captains

Picket Captains are needed to provide on-the-line administrative support for our members. Training will be provided! Register now

• Support scheduling and organizing picket lines

• Track picket line attendance

• Ensure members are registered for direct deposits

• Interact with police and security when necessary

• Coordinate with Strike Committee for materials, resources, and supporting needs.

Join hundreds of workers from Hamilton’s labour community as we parade through the streets to Bayfront Park for a family-friendly BBQ picnic, music, and fun for the kids! Register now for food and fun!

We’ll be at the front of the parade, so let’s show up to celebrate our unity! 

• Meet by 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Bay Street North and Stuart Street.

• Picnic from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in Bayfront Park. Register above!
